Tanzania group on the way home

Posted by Robert Fisher on August 31, 2006

Most of the group want on a safari yesterday.  They had a wonderful
time.  You should be sure to ask about the Giraffe family and the rest
of the conversation will be smooth.  There was several of us who had
lunch with Tom and Sally Roash - ELCA missionaries with the ELCT in
Arusha.  It was great to see them and we had a wonderful time.

Tanzania group blessed to be a blessing

Posted by Robert Fisher on August 28, 2006

We are so blessed to be part of this amazing project. I should also say we have been meeting with staff from the Rainbow School and developing things that will enhance the skills of the teachers and certainly the development of the children.

Tanzania group at SEKUCo campus

Posted by Robert Fisher on August 28, 2006

We worked on the SEKUCo campus yesterday and today. Yesterday we worked with 70 students and faculty from the Lwandai Secondary School. They all spoke English so there were many discussions with great depth and of course many questions. The work was carrying dirt up the mountain for the construction workers. Some worked cutting down trees and digging up the stumps, others cut the crass with macheties (pardon the spelling). The students spend the entire day making our late lunch. THat meant on an open fire and in large pots cooking 2 types of rice, cooking the meat, preparing fresh vegetables, and preparing for their 70 and our 12, plus others.Just amazing and very tasty.

We have been blessed with another wonderful day in Tanzania. This morning we visited the Irente Rainbow School for a reception, a presentation, breakfast, conversations and information. The students from the School for the Blind came to visit us also. The children had a program for us and greeted us at the gate with singing and flowers for everyone.
